Upper and lower blepharoplasty

Upper and lower blepharoplasty
The eyes are the most intriguing and revealing part of the face, they attract attention and reveal our feelings.
Age changes unfortunately have a big impact on eye vision. The wrinkled skin of the upper eyelids makes you look sad and angry, and the swollen lower eyelids look tired.

Operative intervention
Blepharoplasty is performed with sagging and sagging upper and / or lower eyelids. Eyelid cosmetic surgery removes excess skin, tissue and fat and bags that contribute to puffiness in both the lower and upper eyelids. Aesthetic blepharoplasty aims to remove the bags of the lower eyelids, excess skin and sagging muscles of the upper eyelids.

Plastic surgery of the upper eyelids - from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Trans conjunctival plastic surgery of the lower eyelids - from 30 to 40 minutes. Lifting of the lower eyelid - from 2 to 3 hours.

Local anesthesia in combination with intravenous sedation. It is possible to perform the operation under general anesthesia.

Hospital stay
The operation can be performed on an outpatient basis or in a hospital health facility if general anesthesia is required.

Postoperative abnormalities
Discomfort, pain, swelling, bruising, burning, tearing of the eyes, usually passing up to 1 week after surgery. Temporarily altered sensitivity of the eyelid skin.

Temporarily blurred or double vision. Infection. Bleeding. Pigmentation on the skin of the eyelids. Asymmetry. Decrease in the ciliary edge of the lower eyelid. Dryness and irritation in the eyes. Difficult to close the eyelids. Aspirin is prohibited 7 days before surgery because it increases the risk of bleeding during and after surgery.

The swelling and bruising go away within 1 to 2 weeks, rarely longer. Return to work - after 5 to 7 days. Contact lenses can be placed after 2 weeks. Exercise is allowed after at least 3 weeks.
